Lake Somerville

Lake Somerville provides yet another sailing option for the club. Open waters and protected bays make for a lot of opportunities. There is a daily admission fee of $5 and our boatyard is not located near the water, so towing capabilities are required when going to sail. There are several campsites located throughout the lake that can be used for a small fee.

Directions to Lake Somerville

To get to Lake Somerville, you need to:
  • Take University Dr/FM 60 SouthWest out of College Station
  • Stay on FM 60 until it ends at Texas Highway TX-36
  • Turn left on TX-36 towards the town of Somerville
  • Drive approximately 2.6 miles and turn right onto Thornberry Dr (there will be a sign for Somerville Lake, near the Las Fuentes Mexican restaurant)
  • Stay on Thornberry Dr across the dam and look for signs to the Lake Somerville Marina
